Advances in tumble drier technology

Tumble Dryer have come a long way in the last few years and now many have advanced features delivering more drying power at lower cost than ever before.. So what do you look for when purchasing a dryer?

To help you choose a tumble dryer manufactures now have energy efficiency labelling. This was introduced by the EU and all dyers must display this label the most efficient rating as “A” and the least efficient is “G” drying performance.

VENTED DRYER - Warm, moist air is expelled from the machine via a venting kit.
It is essential that this air is vented outside; therefore the appliance must be situated near an outside wall or window. If this is not possible you can always purchase a CONDENSER DRYER - This condenses the moisture back into water and fills a large self sealed water container that can be poured down the sink. Making it possible to site this anywhere in your home.

There are two types of dryers one with manual timers where you set the time and then keep returning to check when the clothes are dry this is a bit of a guessing game or by purchasing a Sensor Dryer (available in vented and condenser style) You can select the level of dryness required from Ironing to cupboard dry The dryer will sense the humidity within the drum and will switch off when the clothes are dried to the level specified. Although more expensive to buy  initially you will recoup this cost over the years in saved electricity not to mention easier ironing as clothes won’t be over dried.
